What is your policy on children at Nightmare on Edgewood?
While technically all ages are welcome at Nightmare on Edgewood, it is not recommended for young children due to our intense, full-contact nature with actors who may touch or grab you. We advise that you use discretion when bringing small children and to consider their sensitivity to scares (visual, audio, physical) before going through the haunted house.
Key things to remember:
- We are an intense experience: Our haunted house is designed to be very scary with physical contact from actors, making it unsuitable for most young children.
- Parental discretion is advised: Always consider your child's ability to handle fear before bringing them.
- The is no age restriction: There is no official age restriction or minimum, but we advise caution with young children.
With that in mind, many young children love coming to Nightmare on Edgewood! In our experience, those that want to come through are often braver than many of our adult guests 😆 It is a decision that only you and your children can make for yourselves, so we leave it up to you to decide!
Can we opt out of the full-contact experience?
Yes, you may purchase a chicken ticket for an additional $10. We'll give you a glowstick and safety vest to wear through the haunted house, signaling to our actors that you do NOT want to be touched. Chicken tickets are available on a per-person basis; each person who does not want to be touched must purchase a chicken ticket.
What happens if we start to go through and it's too much for my kid?
Just let any of our actors know that it's too much for your kid and you'd like to exit. They will escort you out, and you will not be eligible for a refund. If the rest of your group would like to proceed without exiting, they may do so.
Do you offer special pricing for children?
Sorry, we do not offer special pricing for young children. Everyone pays the same price, regardless of age.
Do you offer any special events just for kids?
Yes, we open our doors with the lights on for a kid-friendly trick or treat once a year. See our blog for more information.
