Lights On Trick or Treat

A Not-So-Scary Halloween Event for Kids in Indianapolis

Every October, Nightmare on Edgewood hosts a special Lights On Trick-or-Treat event just for kids and families to show them that haunted houses are fun, safe, and all pretend.

Designed for younger audiences, this one-day-only event is a unique opportunity for kids to explore our haunted attractions with the lights on, the scares off, and the candy flowing. Characters stay in costume but dial down the intensity, making it a perfect introduction to Halloween fun in a friendly, no-pressure environment.

Whether your child is curious about haunted houses or just looking for a fun spot to trick or treat in Indianapolis, this event is made for them.

What to Expect

  • Walk through our haunted house sets with no scares, no actors jumping out, and lights on
  • Friendly characters handing out candy throughout the haunted house
  • Halloween costumes are encouraged (but not required!)
  • Perfect for families looking for kid-friendly Halloween events in Indianapolis
  • A fun, low-cost option for safe trick or treating

Why We Do It

As one of Indiana’s most intense haunted houses, we know our full-contact, full-scare shows aren’t for everyone—especially not the littlest goblins. That’s why we created a way to show the behind-the-screams side of haunting. Kids can see that it’s all just makeup, props, and storytelling—while still getting to collect candy and celebrate Halloween.

It’s not scary. It’s not intense. It’s just fun.

When Is It?

This event happens once a year in October, usually on a Sunday afternoon. Visit our blog page or follow us on social media for each year’s official date and details.
